Best option by situation
Fastest to the station
Take the LTG Link airport train if your timing fits and your hotel is near the station, Old Town south side or Naujamiestis.
Cheapest direct option
Take a city bus. Routes serve the railway/bus station and central areas; use Trafi or contactless payment where available.
Easiest with luggage
Use Bolt or Uber. You see the price before ordering and avoid negotiating with drivers outside the terminal.
Train
The airport train station is a short walk from the terminal and the ride to Vilnius railway station takes about 7-8 minutes. It is cheap and quick, but it does not run all night and it drops you at the station rather than directly at an Old Town hotel.
Bus
Airport bus stops are directly outside the terminal area. Common visitor routes include services toward the railway station and central Vilnius. Expect roughly 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and route. This is the best value choice if your hotel sits near a stop.
Bolt, Uber and taxi
Ride-hailing is the simplest option after a late flight, with children, or with heavy bags. Order in the app and follow the pickup instructions. Avoid accepting unsolicited rides from drivers at the terminal exit. Official taxi ranks exist, but app pricing is easier to judge.
Walking?
Do not plan on walking from the airport to the Old Town with luggage. The distance is short on a map but the route is not a pleasant first impression and takes far longer than the train, bus or ride app.
Where this matters for hotel choice
Naujamiestis and the station side of Old Town are especially convenient for early departures. Deep Old Town is better for atmosphere but usually easier by Bolt than by dragging luggage over cobbles.
